10 Incredible Guest Photos From 2024
From the active Krka Trail in Croatia to an adventurous Pack
Trip in the Kananaskis, Canada, our clients enjoyed some incredible horseback journeys
in 2024. Having wrapped up a wonderful and busy year, we are now ready for some
fresh and exciting adventures in 2025, but we thought we’d share 10 of our
favourite pictures sent to us by clients, from 2024, (and hopefully provide you with some
inspiration for your next trip!)
1. Yukiko, The Benasque Valley Trail, Spain
Not as far away as New Zealand or the Andes, but
with its pristine mountain lakes, untouched alpine meadows and stunning scenery
of the Spanish Pyrenees, this centre-based holiday is sure to dazzle anyone who
loves dramatic scenery. The Benasque Valley is one of the most beautiful
valleys of this remote mountain range, surrounded by many of the most
well-known peaks of the Pyrenees including the mighty Aneto, standing
at 3404 m. Our guest Yukiko visited in September and managed to
capture this wonderful picture of the mountains and riders ahead.
2. Marie, Wadi Rum Trails with Dead Sea Extension, Jordan
Arabian horses and their sandy hoofprints, wide open spaces, blue skies, a warm glow and stunning red canyons: this can only be the Wadi Rum Trails in Jordan. Adventure awaits on this exciting camping trail, with riders experiencing the wonder of sleeping under the stars and the hospitality of their Bedouin guides. Marie was able to snap this stunning shot on her trip in April this year, making us all a little jealous.
3. Jenna, Cappadocia Explorer, Turkey
There can be no question about the destination in this fabulous photo, taken by Jenna on her visit to Turkey in September. Yes, it's Cappadocia, in central Turkey. On this trail, guests get to ride through some of the country's most spectacular scenery, experience legendary Turkish hospitality and try out traditional cuisine. This mobile trail is ideal for experienced riders ready to take on the challenges of riding in the unusual landscapes of this beautiful area.
4. Hanneke and Jetske, Classical Dressage, Portugal
Those who already love dressage or simply wish to discover this magnificent art will be indulged on this fabulous trip. Just outside Lisbon, riders stay at the dressage centre and have lessons in small groups on the centre's highly schooled Lusitano horses, taught by one of the centre's experienced instructors. Hanneke and Jetske are pictured enjoying a break between lessons in this gorgeous picture.
5. Louise, Pack Trip in the Kananaskis, Canada
Designed for experienced riders with a keen sense of adventure, looking to venture out of the beaten track, this very special trip allows guests to see and experience Canada like never before. Riding on horseback across the Kananaski country and rugged mountain trails, riders not only stumble upon impressive landscapes but also get to reconnect with nature as they explore beautiful lakes and camp out under the stars. Our guest Louise was able to snatch this fantastic action shot on her ride last June.
6. Rachel, African Explorer Safari, South Africa & Botswana
An Africa sunset is always going to make a great photo! This particular trip is a wonderful introduction to Africa for confident riders looking for their first safari. It combine tours of two countries and two ecosystems (with four days riding in the Waterberg of South Africa with three days riding in the Mashatu reserve of Botswana), with plenty of plains game to view in South Africa, and a vast, unfenced wilderness (and the chance to ride with big game) in Botswana. Rachel sent us this magnificent photo from her trip in October last year.
7. Stefanie, Palms, Pyramids and Pharaohs, Egypt
Riding fabulous Arabian horses on a trip that promises culture as well as adventure, our guests get a real taste of Egypt on the Palms, Pyramids and Pharaohs ride. As well as seeing the Pyramids of Giza, the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the World, riders visit the fascinating city of Cairo, ancient Thebes, Valley of the Kings and the Red Sea. Stefanie is pictured in October 2024 enjoying a ride through this mystical land.
8. Amber, Krka Trail, Croatia
The Krka Trail in Croatia attracts riders looking for an active pace, with guests enjoying long days in the saddle on fit and forward horses. The ride offers fun and regular canters through open fields and rolling hills in the Croatian countryside (and the chance to cool off in lakes and rivers during the summer months), as well as an opportunity to meet local families and enjoy traditional cuisine. There is time out of the saddle too, with riders getting to visit Visovac Island and its historic monasteries, and the endless waterfalls of Skradinski Buk on the Krka river. Amber is seen on her horse last June, enjoying this enriching and wonderful holiday.
9. Rebecca, Riding the Red Isle, Madagascar
Madagascar is not everyone's first thought for a riding holiday, and yet, it offers a spectacular variety of landscapes through which to ride - semi-arid desert plains, lush sub-tropical forests, mountains and plateaus, deep canyons, rice fields and mangrove forests. While exploring the island on horseback, riders get the chance to encounter a variety of flora and fauna, such as the famous lemurs and comet orchid as well as the distinctive African Baobab trees. They are also met with warmth and curiosity as they stop at towns and villages, and can enjoy wild camping in the island's diverse landscapes. Rebecca was one of our guests there in September 2024, and managed to get this fabulous photo.
10. Rachel, Equestrian holiday in Crete, Greece
If you're looking for an island holiday with plenty of sunshine, that caters for intermediate riders, our horsey escape in Crete is a wonderful choice! Riders stay in comfortable accommodation and enjoy delicious Greek cuisine on this relaxing centre-based trip, while getting to explore the beautiful Cretan countryside, through olive groves and over rolling hills. This lovely picture was sent us by Rachel, who visited the island in November.
